Research activity

Areas of research in which significant, favorably evaluated results have been achieved have for many years focused on milking equipment, problems associated with energy requirements for crushing feed components and dispersity of the resulting product, and issues related to building environment technology. New fields of research activities of the department are directed to packaging technology, waste processing technology and mini-brewery technology.

In addition to other areas of interest, the Department of Technological Equipment of Buildings has been dealing with a wide range of issues of rational processing and utilization of waste from agricultural, forestry and food production for several years. Significant, favorably evaluated results have been achieved in this area, which for many years have been focused not only on waste treatment technology. It works closely with the Research Institute of Agricultural Technology - VÚZT, v.v.i., Research Institute of Animal Production - VÚŽV, v.v.i. and the Food Research Institute Prague - VVÚPP, v.v.i .. Participates in projects of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic - National Agency for Agricultural Research.

Following the results of cooperation with VÚZT from previous years and the current cooperation in this area, the solution brought new knowledge, many of which have also been published or served as a basis for the development of equipment for physical and mechanical treatment of alternative fuels, especially of plant origin (production). wood chips, briquettes, hemp harvester, combustion equipment for stalks, woody plants and pellets, algorithm for determining emissions under normal conditions, production of biopanel boards from straw and other stalks, obtaining alternative fuels).

Part of the research activities of the department is the provision of consulting services in the field of waste management. Special attention is paid to air protection - determination of emission concentrations during the combustion of a mixture of organic waste and fuels of plant origin. Furthermore, the department provides consulting services in the areas of animal production and food production.

The department also has a research team dealing with ergonomics, with a special specialization in vehicle ergonomics. He participates in the development of revolutionary technologies, such as digital mirrors or the usability of vehicle information systems, in cooperation with EDAG, Valeo and Škoda Auto.
