The Department organizes the University of the Third Age (U3A), education for elder people and seniors, as a part of the study program Tropické zemědělství. During the first year, students of this program learn about animal production and food processing in tropical and subtropical countries. During the second year start subsequent lectures about plant production and agroecology of tropical and subtropical crops. Participants also gain information on the concept of CSR (Corporate social responsibility), learn about Fair Trade principles and new directions in the area of sustainable development.
