Včelstva online / Bee colony online

Projects > Včelstva online / Bee colony online

The project Včelstva online (Bee Colony Online)  is a web portal that has originated and is further developed within the BeeTech project. This project is financially supported by Česká Spořitelna, T-Mobile and IBM. The purpose of the portal is to offer and facilitate various user functions for beekeepers, farmers and the lay public. These include, for example, the possibility of registration and records of bee habitats, and monitoring of beehive parameters. Beehive parameters can be monitored by data gathering from smart scales or other electronic devices that will be installed in a beehive and will send data about the beehive status. The portal will also help with mandatory administration towards authorities and beekeepers unions. The lay public will be able to get information, advice on bee breeding or use the portal to buy honey online directly from the registered beekeepers.

A part of the project will be a Facebook page that will allow debates and raising of awareness of bee protection and breeding with the support of modern technologies.

The responsible person for the development of the portal is doc. Ing. Jan Bartoška, Ph.D. from the Department of System Engineering FEM CULS in Prague. Ing. Martin Štoncner and Martin Fouček, Dis. participated as expert consultants in beekeeping. Further development of the web portal is provided by a team of technicians and programmers of FEM CULS in Prague.
