TEST OF ENGLISH FOR INTERNATIONAL COMMUNICATION
TESTED AT THE DEPARTMENT OF LANGUAGES FEM CULS PRAGUE
WHAT? Test of English for International Communication, Speaking and Writing parts
HOW MUCH? 3400 CZK
Speaking test - 20 minutes
11 questions in total:
1+2) read a short text aloud (checking pronunciation and intonation)
3) describe a picture in as much detail as possible (checking vocabulary and grammar)
4-6) respond to a question being asked
7-9) respond to questions using information provided in a short text
10) propose a solution to a problem you will hear about
11) express an opinion about a specific topic you will hear about
BEWARE – everything is conducted on computers, you have headphones and you speak into a microphone and everything is recorded, there is no real person having a conversation with you face-to-face!!!
Writing - 60 minutes
8 questions in total:
1-5) write one sentence about a photograph that you will see (two words are always given to be used)
6-7) respond to a written request (an-email provided, write a reply to it)
8) an opinion essay responding to a question in 30 minutes (approximately 300 words)
BEWARE – everything is conducted on computers, no handwriting is involved, you have to type!

Together with the total number of points (the final result) everybody will get a detailed graph and a description of their speaking and writing skills. There is no additional certificate.
TOEIC® is applicable for the posts within the European Union.
TOEIC® is useful when applying for jobs in multinational companies.
TOEIC® can be used to test the state administration staff.
TOEIC® can be recognized as an exam for B1 and B2 levels and Business English and other specializations in English at CULS.

Deadline for applications and the payment is 4 weeks before the date of the test.
POZOR: Neúčast je nutno nahlásit nejpozději 3 týdny před termínem testu. Při neúčasti na testu bez řádné a včasné omluvy bude frekventantovi účtován storno poplatek ve výši nákladů na konání zkoušky. Při pozdním odhlášení z termínu testování ze závažných důvodů (například úraz, náhlé onemocnění) bude účtován minimální administrativní stornopoplatek ve výši 400 korun.
Důležitá informace - V případě porušení striktních pravidel daných americkou organizací ETS (viz. Examinee Handbook), bude výsledek testu anulován bez náhrady.
Important information - In case of breaking the strict ETS rules (as stated in the Examinee Handbook), the test results will be invalidated without any compensation.
