Czech Championship in working with a chainsaw

Gallery > Competitions > Czech Championship in working with a chainsaw

The Forestry Day in Ralsko has a long tradition; the 44th year took place this year and the XX. Czech Championship in working with a chainsaw. Saturday's program was also attended by representatives of the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Sciences ČZU in Prague, headed by the Dean prof. Ing. Róbert Marušák, Ph.D. and vice-dean for study activities Ing. Markéta Kalábová, Ph.D. Lumberjacks, not only from the Czech Republic but also from Slovakia and Germany, competed in felling, branching, combined cutting, and other disciplines. Of course, Ralsko could not miss demonstrations of STIHL Timbersport, an attractive sports discipline that presents mainly the forestry skills of lumberjacks when working with a hand saw and ax. The plan also included demonstrations of forestry and other equipment from hand-held chainsaws to very powerful harvesters, equipment needed for work in the woods and the garden, and an engaging exhibition of trophies and dumps, performances of hunting dogs, and forestry pedagogy for children. The program also included demonstrations of hunting music as part of hunting customs and traditions and a presentation of hunting tools called horns. The pleasant tones of these instruments performed by the Horn players of the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Sciences could, of course, not be missing at the ceremonial opening of the Saturday program and the formal announcement of the XX.
